“I am blest to be serving my 9th year as Senior Pastor in Ironton, having been born and raised in our area has yielded huge dividends by knowing the people of our area.” Pastor Hale has served over 40 years since being called to Preach the gospel, starting as a Children’s Pastor, Youth Pastor and multiple staff positions. Ordained in 1985, He has served three Nazarene Church’s starting at the Argillite Church in 1987, Ashland Plaza Church in 2002 and Ironton First in 2009. Pastor Hale was bi-vocational 35 1/2 years, having recently retired from Western Southern Insurance.  He enjoyed working in financial services while experiencing multiple rewards, one of which is ministering outside of the four walls of the church. Receiving a gift from God over 20 years ago that has resulted in three wonderful children was his wife Lori Ann (Sergent). “I am most undeserving of all the manifold blessings from our Lord, but happily receive and enjoy all of them.”

Pastor Paul Ferguson, Youth Pastor and Administrative Assistant

Pastor Paul Ferguson is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene who was born and raised in the Ironton area and is 1983 graduate of Ironton High School.  Pastor Paul is also a 1990 graduate of MVNU where he met his wife Crystal and they have 4 children.  Kelli is 2017 graduate of  MVNU, David a Senior at MVNU and Brooke a Sophomore at MVNU.   Megan is a teacher in Auburndale Florida and is married to Chris Hart and they have two children, Chelsea and Chase.  (We have pictures, just ask). Paul  has a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling.  He has been in youth ministry for 28 years and has been the youth pastor at Ironton First since 2011 and added the duties of administrative assistant in January of 2015.  Paul is a Reds fan, Browns fan, and Kentucky basketball fan and a fan of any sport, team or activity that the youth of Ironton First are involved.



Kelli Ferguson, Children’s Director 

Kelli Ferguson is a recent graduate (2017) of Mount Vernon Nazarene University, with a degree in Early Childhood Education.  She has been working as the Children’ director since that time.  Kelli is the daughter of Paul & Crystal Ferguson.  The children meet on Sundays for Sunday School at 9:30 AM, followed by Children’s Church at 10:30 AM.  Wednesday the children gather at 7:00 PM unitl 8:00 PM.  The curriculum used on Wednesday is Faith Weaver Friends and the kids rotate from, Bible Story, craft, games and snack.  Kelli is a big Marvel Comics fan. 
Mark & Alicia Fonner, REACH Special Needs Ministry Directors
Mark and Alicia Fonner head up our Special Needs program on Tuesday nights at 7:00 PM.  This service allows those who are unable to worship in the traditional services to have  a service of their own.  This ministry REACHES those who have learning disabilities, or any category of being developmentally delayed, including being on the Autism spectrum.  Mark was ordained by the Church of the Nazarene in June of 2018.   Alicia is an Intervention Specialist in the South Point School District and has a Masters degree in working with those with Special Needs.
